After obtaining a degree in dental surgery at the University of London in the UK, Dr. Long worked in the Hospital service and private practice, in both the UK and Hong Kong. He came to UBC to gain his Masters degree in Science and his Diploma in Periodontics in the year 2000.
Dr. Long is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada as well as a Board Certified Specialist in Periodontics, Dental Implants, and Gum Disease Treatment.
Dr. Long maintains professional memberships with the Canadian and American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Ossiointegration, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), North Shore Implant Seminars, and the North Shore Dental Seminar group. Dr. Long resides on the North Shore of Vancouver with his wife and 2 children, and enjoys many of the outdoor activities that beautiful British Columbia has to offer. Dr. Mathieu Nault received his dental degree from Montreal University in 2010 and subsequently completed a general practice residency program (2011) and a fellowship (2012) at the Jewish General Hospital affiliated with McGill University.
Dr. Nault practiced as a general dentist in Quebec before completing his post-graduate studies in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia in 2016.
He received numerous awards in the field of dentistry, including the “Nobel Biocare Achievement Award in Osseointegration” for his clinical excellence. Dr. Nault was a clinical instructor at McGill University in 2012-2013. His research interest focused on the role of blood platelets in periodontal diseases.
Dr. Nault enjoys outdoor activities, such as surfing, telemark skiing, and fishing.

Dr. George Maryniak is a certified specialist anesthesiologist with over 30 years of experience in England and Canada. He obtained his medical degree and anesthesia training in London, England. He and his family emigrated to Canada in 1989, and to Vancouver in 1993. He is a Specialist Anesthesiologist certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
He is a staff Anesthesiologist at Surrey Memorial Hospital and the Valley Surgery Centre in Surrey. When he is not administering anesthesia he spends time fixing his house, skiing (badly), and working as Medical Director for Project HANDS, a humanitarian organization which he co-founded. Project HANDS provides, amongst other things, medical care to the poor in Guatemala.
With skill and compassion, he focuses on turning the experience of having an anesthetic into a comfortable and positive event for his patients.

Originally from Ontario, Dr. Cain has been practicing prosthodontics in Vancouver since 2017. After obtaining his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from New York University, Dr. Cain went on to specialize in prosthetic dentistry. Dr. Cain obtained his Certificate in Prosthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, where he gained extensive knowledge in implant dentistry. Dr. Cain is passionate about dental education and holds a part-time position teaching at The University of British Columbia.
In his spare time, Dr. Cain enjoys spending time with family and friends on Vancouver Island. He enjoys being active and outdoors and has recently taken up surfing.
Dr. Cain is thrilled to be a part of the West Vancouver team in order to work alongside Dr. Long. He is a firm believer in providing comprehensive care with other dental specialists and looks forward to helping you achieve your treatment goals.
